About Huis Nuweland
This Home once served as a Home for unmarried mothers, until the 1980’s. It therefore always had its roots deeply grounded into the soil of compassion, love, respect, dignity and care. In the late 70’s the government asked the Church if the Home can be converted into a Retirement Home, really needed in the area at the time. Well, here we are!
Over the many years (decades) our Board worked hard at building our reserve funds. Sustainability and Governance are two of the most important key components/principles that the Board put in place.
We are truly blessed with a caring community around us, other friends of Huis Nuweland (here and abroad), certain foundations, various frequent and substantial donors, legacies received, etc. They all opened their hearts (and purses) to this Home, especially during Covid. We will forever be humbled and grateful.
Other than the Board, we also have a remarkable Residents Committee and competent Management Team (the Huis Nuweland Executive Team/Exco) that leads the staff here by setting the example.
